Default 2013 Jetta TDI EDC17CP14 Help

Hello everyone I have a 2013 Jetta TDI with EDC17CP14 Ecu.

I purchased Scanmatik2 PRO and PCM Flash module 71 so I could read through bench mode without opening the lid, from there I'd have a full read and could safely disable TPROT and enable flashing through OBD with module 50.

A user on another forum said that this is not possible because of its TPROT level and I must use module 53 instead BSL.

How do I determine the ECU's TPROT level and am I truly out of luck using module 71?

    Appreciate any advice.

why you should enable it for module 50...?
if you write with 48/50/65 you have nothing to enable...

but if you have module 77 and it works...
    why you use 53...?

how you determine tprot level, connect module 77 if works, OK...
if it not works, than you know that tprot level is too high...

Thats what I was intending to do I have yet to receive the order but a user on another forum said 71 will not work because my tprot level is 7+ ?

As far as I thought I understood bench has no block from tprot to flash but if you flash through OBD with tprot it will soft brick?

Dont I need 50 if I want to continue to just flash through OBD if I disable TPROT? I dont want to bench flash everytime I need to make modifications to the tune.

You have any warning from the tool, that you must unlock the ecu before read - write?

2013 is an old tprot, i don't think pcmflash have any problem to bypass it.....

And i think full bdm for backup is very good option in case.....

And pcmflash have very good support, ask there to be sure.....(you can visit pcmflash.ru many useful info and help there...)

I figured I would update this and say that module 71 through bench was unsuccessful PCM Flash gives me and error that says "Unsupported TPROT version."
