VW EDC17CP14 r/w via OBD with KESS V2 (clone)

Hi guys, i need your help
I want to remove ecology from my private scirocco, and I'm just learning the basics of chiptuning
I made a backup and read the flash (looks like it's not full) in boot mode using kess V2 (clone)
Is there any method to upload the converted flash via OBD using kess (clone) or the only option is to buy ktag and unlock Tprot via bdm?

Unfortunately your sw begins with 17503 and you have to patch it with K-Tag.
Another solution is flashing pre-dieselgate sw without Tprot via ODIS

Ok, I have VAS and I can downgrade the firmware using ODIS, but then I will lose the current map prepared on the dyno by the tuner?

This is how you will lose the map from your tuner

just write back file using kess BOOT mode same as you read it, it is not full file since you read it with kess but boot mode with kess+tricore adapter works very well

you are bypassing tprot of course on boot mode, don't be afraid because it is not full file, it is the way KESS + tricore module works on boot, it is confusing for a lot of people especially beginners. Just write file same as you read it (don't write backup, write maps only) ,no need to buy ktag

it seems to me that this process will not work in the case of my ECU, it is probably too young , sw 6656 is currently loaded

I know I can upload the map back via boot mode, but I want to be able to upload maps for tests via OBD without opening the ecu every time. The car is used daily.

I only have KESS V2 5.017 (clone), so vr is rather unavailable for me. Unless there is an option to upload the necessary file to the KESS database?

Here it is VR for your ecu.

You need use protocol 501 to write it OBD.

Make any mod you want over this file and flash the moded file OBD using the mentioned protocol, it should work. In the event your ecu brick you can recover it with the backup you made in bootmode before.

GET THE KTAG AND REMOVE TPROT UPLOAD FILE VIA BOOT AND THAN YOU CAN USE OBD READ WRITE

After removing the DPF via DaVinci, do I have to recalculate the checksum before uploading the maps in the boot mode option?
Does kess calculate the checksum itself also in boot mode?

Kess calculates the checksum, but da vinci clone makes a disaster with the dpf ..

i not reccomend use davinci in edc17

yes, I guess DaVinci is not good for EDC17 and that's why I'm looking for some solution and I wrote a message to you Luigi84, because it's too high level for me .
But Swiftec did exactly what DaVinci did ...
