IF (REMEMBER only IF) Avr write CORECTLY AVR ATMRGA162 then you will obtain in HWType 46 and ROSS TECH 46
IF (REMEMBER only IF) this happend and IF CDDAFF(or CDDAF9CC) then USB Writer must write correctly by USB k0l1 flash and eeprom.
IF NOT..something is wrong. OR..IF after exclude STC (IC8 ) and D9 the same ..probably FT232R is damaged.
As i see you do something wrong or STC is damaged or put short-circuit on FT. If i have that cable in my hands will be more easy. "At the distance" is dificult to repair...
And YES, i suggest TO ALL exclude STC and D9. Not always that not let communicate FT232-16V8-Atmel...but time to time..is happend,,randomly. "Howgh!!!" - as Winnetou said![]()

I removed IC8 and D7.
Flashed the interface with AVRdude.
Everithing looks ok
Tried VAGCOM_EEWriteLang.exe and it's working.
After USB update with VAGCOM_EEWriteLang.exe VCDS also requested and did firmware update.
I will test it tomorrow on the car since now is too late but it looks good.
Thank you all for the support.
PS: will it work with VCDS-Release-18.9.1 or must use only VCDS-Release-18.9.0 ?
traxpalicaru (15th May, 2019)
Will work only with 18.9.0. Maybe in the near future this "problem" will be solved by Kolimer .
Hi thanks for the 2 option link my last one was a ebay vcds 12.12 still working ,but would like to get a another one .Whats the difference between the 2 options and which one is better many thanks !!
if you are not hampered by the budget, then I advise option 2, but the first one also works fine.
Only consider that both options are calculated on the fact that you will use the Kolimer package for firmware.
you can see the difference between them by clicking on the link option 1 option 2 click here
There is also another news friends, I read on the forums that the diagnostics of cars of new 2017-2019, if the scanner does not see all the blocks, you need to open the hood.

hi, i want to ask did you test yours 18.2.1/18.9 vcds with CAN car?
I bought cable from this guy: https://www.aliexpress.com/store/pro...28c64e18ReHu8B
cable came with vcds 18.2.1polish/18.9ENG and with vcds_loader ver7 and of course vcds 18.2.1 AKP polish or 18.9 english could be registered (OPTIONS->TEST->SAVE k1=ok k2=ok CAN=Ok) but it works only with car equipped in KKL line but any car which has got CAN can't be connected without error communication info.
I'm getting communication errors windows each time i want to scan/autoscan or direct access any car's component,
i have got older version 17.1.3polish/17.8ENG from same guy and this version with different older loader works OK
please answer:
1.did you test your 18.2.1 polish / 18.9 ENG with any CAN/UDS car ?
2. can i check using some tools which versions of "firmware" has got my cable ?
Well, here's another shit with Ali)), you can find and download everything you need for this scanner to work on this forum, everything works fine, read carefully the info file in the archive.

if you have a multimeter stop the resistance at 6 and 14 pin OBD should be 120om
If this does not help, try to remove, replace the diode that I noted in the photo.

What I have found is this, but I did not test it yet:
"Hey Guys,i found out that MQB Cars are still codeable and readable with a HEX CAN Cable.
There is just a verification on the new VCDS Software.
To readout newer MQB Modell cars you need to:
1. Turn on ignition
2. Do autoscan on the car
3. Turn off the ignition
4. Select the desired Module
5. Turn on the ignition
With this you bypass VCDS to readout the Cars modellyear and
all information will be still displayed.
I think they just put this to sell new HEX V2 Cables"
From VCDS Germany distributor...
Important NOTE:
Due to a bug in the current VCDS 18.9 resetting the service interval in the control unit 17 is not possible. In this case, we recommend you to downgrade to the VCDS 17.8 until the bug in the next VCDS version has been corrected.
