Hi, I have unfortunately bought my VCDS 18.9.0 cable on ali before I found this forum and that is why I am here now.

I have problem with connecting to modules in my car (Audi A3 2015):

But as I have noticed, the ROD file names are invalid. There are always 2 chars swapped (randomly):
VCDS ROD file.jpg

And here is my cable:
VCDS_1.jpg VCDS_2.jpg

So this is version with ATMega162, that can be flashed.

Do you think this can be fixed?
Or maybe this is due to MQB platform that cause none of the cable works except original HEX V2/NET?

I have also some suspicious regarding MCP2515 chip as it has no markings and can be fake.

I have been reading this topic for few days, but wasn't able to read all as it it quite long now, and haven't found such problem here.

I do not know why some pictures were resized to non readable size.
Updated photos again.

Must be too old loader version or too new 18.9.0 release for specific loader.
"No ROD file found" means that VCDS has detected you are using clone.
Find loader 7.2 and 18.9.1 from 2019 january. It can be done... How? It's all written in previous pages...

Yes, that is the first and working release

If you're not sure, just check it's SHA1

I wanted to test this cable with different versions of loader to find out what was originaly flashed there, but during tests I got "Interface not connected to the car" error, although it was connected.
So finaly I had to reflash completely this crappy cable with Loader V7.2 and install fresh 18.9.1 V1 (January). Now I got working cable. At least for now...
